Calgary Lactation Consultant

Natalie Borden - IBCLC CD/PCD(DONA)

I have always had a passion for caring for others. Originally from Saskatchewan, my husband and I moved to Calgary in 2006. After the birth of my daughter, my eyes were opened to the wonder that is motherhood. Two more daughters followed her, and our household was complete. It was shortly after the birth of our youngest that a close friend asked me to support her on her breastfeeding journey. My own journey didn’t start off smoothly and I am eager to help others avoid the struggles I had gone through. Supporting others during the birth and postpartum period sparked a joy inside of me to learn more so that I could provide the best care possible. I started Calgary Breastfeeding Support to provide a place where families could connect with other lactating families and reach valuable information. I felt it was important to have access to quality information without the pressure of being sold to.

While I do provide a paid service to families, I utilize my vast education and experience to help others during an intimate and emotional time in both paid and volunteer roles. Over the years I have been invited into the homes of many to help them transition into parenthood and to expand their families. As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, I consult out of the South Calgary Midwives clinic or come to your home to assess your unique breastfeeding/chestfeeding situation. I work with you to find a solution that works for your family. It is my belief that birth and breastfeeding are normal physiological processes that are better experienced with additional support.

The information provided through Calgary Breastfeeding Support doesn’t take the place of a full and thorough evaluation. If you’re interested in having me assess your breastfeeding journey, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
